The client for this project wanted a garden room extension with the existing living room converted to a gallery kitchen. This had to match with the existing materials of the house and have a roof which was as low and un-obtrusive as possible. The Architect Tim Hayward of Hayward Smart Architects (Shipston-on-Stour) came up with a wonderful design which met the challenging brief perfectly. A steeply sloping site meant some very careful digging on several levels was called for. The project featured two levels of precast concrete flooring and piped water underfloor heating. We put together a team and the finished project is very satisfying.
Cotswold stone was sourced from a local quarry at Farmington and the oak joinery was made to measure by Calarel Joinery in Moreton-in-Marsh.
